Paid Leave (Annual Leave, Medical Leave, Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave)

Annual Leave:

Employment Act Malaysia -  Annual Leave

Employees are entitled to paid annual leave as follows:

Length of service Annual Leave Entitlement
< 2 years 8 days
2 ~ 5 years 12 days
> 5 years 16 days

If an employee has not completed 12 months of continuous service with the same employer in the year of contract termination, their entitlement to paid annual leave will be in direct proportion to the number of completed months of service.

Medical Leave:

Employment Act Malaysia - Medical Leave

Employees are entitled to sick leave as follows (no hospitalization required):

Length of service Medical Leave Entitlement
< 2 years 14 days
2 ~ 5 years 18 days
> 5 years 22 days

In case of hospitalization, employees are entitled to 60 days of sick leave in total per calendar year.

Maternity Leave:

Employment Act Malaysia - Maternity Leave

Female employees are entitled to a paid maternity leave of not less than 98 consecutive days.

Paternity Leave:

Employment Act Malaysia - Paternity Leave

Male employees are entitled to a paid paternity leave of not less than 7 consecutive days.

Minimum Retirement Age:

Employment Act Malaysia -  Minimum Retirement Age

The minimum retirement age in Malaysia is 60.
