What is an Annual General Meeting (AGM)?

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a meeting mandated by section 340 of the Companies Act 2016.

A private company may decide whether or not to hold its Annual General Meeting.

If a private company opts not to conduct an Annual General Meeting, it is required to distribute its financial statements and reports to its members within 6 months from the end of its financial year, prior to lodging them with the Registrar.
